Question 1

Does ChatXport upload my chats anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. Your exported chat file and attachments are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to ChatXport. No account is required, and ChatXport runs no analytics or tracking scripts. The website itself still connects to the internet for the initial page load and for services such as checkout.

Question 2

Do I need internet to use it?

Accepted Answer

You need a connection to load the page. After it is open, reading, searching, and exporting your chat all happen on your device, with nothing sent to a server.

Question 3

How do I export my chats from WhatsApp?

Accepted Answer

Open the chat, tap the menu, choose Export chat, pick with or without media, and save the .zip file. Then open that file here.

Question 4

Is this a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. The web version is free for the first 300 messages, then a one-time unlock. The desktop app is a one-time purchase that you own.

Question 5

What is the difference between the plans?

Accepted Answer

Free lets you read the first 300 messages of any chat. The paid unlock opens the full chat, every view, and PDF and spreadsheet export. The desktop app adds permanent storage with no limits.

Question 6

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Try the free version first to make sure it works for your chats. If you buy the full unlock and within 7 days it fails to show the full chat or export to PDF or Excel because of a fault on our side, email hello@chatxport.com with your transaction reference and we will refund you. Full details are in our refund policy.
